Environmental Degradation

  • Deforestation: Extractive activities often lead to large-scale deforestation, resulting in loss of biodiversity and disruption of ecosystems.
  •  Pollution: Mining, drilling, and other extractive processes can cause air, water, and soil pollution, adversely affecting local flora and fauna as well as human health.
  • Climate Change: Extractive industries, particularly fossil fuels, are major contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, driving climate change.
